Hello, I’m Josephine Ettinger, film + digital photographer in Westport, Connecticut who lives to capture those special moments in life.

β€œPhotography is a love affair with life”

A love of my own family and a passion for beautiful, candid images has taken me on a life-long journey that began as a young traveler with a camera in hand to that of a sought-after visual artist known for capturing timeless, stylish images.

I have spent much of my life living in cities all over globe - in New York, London, Hong Kong & Singapore - and fell in love with exploring the world through my camera lens. I have been honing my skills and unique style of photography for over two decades, mastering the art of capturing candid moments and creating beautiful images that capture the joy in the everyday. I am endlessly inspired by beautiful cities, architecture, the natural world, visual and performing arts, the coastline, and the human experience itself, which can be documented through storytelling. My camera is my tool for creating art, offering endless technical possibilities for artistic expression - translating what I see into beautiful, personal images of my clients and their loved ones. Both intentional and creative, I shoot a combination of digital and medium format film.

My aim is to create art that evokes feelings of meaningful storytellings of childhood and family connections, drawing inspiration from the essence of my subjects through natural movement and play. Known for my relaxed, natural manner and ability to make even the most uncomfortable subject look natural in front of the lens, the success of La Luna Photography is built on my stunning images, strong interpersonal skills and a product offering sought after by discerning families across the Northeast and beyond. My clients are known for returning again and again to ensure those key moments in their lives are β€˜preserved’ forever.

Despite hectic and sometimes stressful daily schedules with raising little ones, I hope those who choose me for their intimate memories will get lost within the images I capture, allowing them to pause and relish in the quiet moments and many joys in this chapter of their day-to-day lives.

I studied photography at the International Center of Photography in NYC and have learned alongside masters of the craft all over the world.

My photographs have appeared in the NY times, exhibitions, book covers and online publications, and most importantly, in frames and on the walls of countless homes.
