There’s something special about fall.

The air turns crisp. The light gets softer and warmer. Fall sessions are designed to feel more like an evening outside together than a formal photo shoot. We play, we explore, we chase the good light, and we let the real moments lead. The focus is all family - candid, connected, and full of the season - and this is reflected in the kinds of images we create together.

I’d love to create a set of images that feel like this season of your family’s life.

A limited number of weekday and weekend evening sessions are available. Once the leaves are gone, these sessions close until next year.

All sessions take place in the early evening to catch the best fall light (exact timing depends on sunset.) Weekend spots are limited and tend to fill first.

Every Fall Family Session includes:

  • 45-60 minutes of photography at golden hour

  • Guidance on what to wear and how to prepare (especially with little ones)

  • A carefully chosen outdoor location with beautiful fall color  

  • Full online gallery of all your images in color and black & white

  • High-resolution digital files with a print release 

  • A relaxed, playful experience focused on connection (not perfect poses)

Where are the best places for fall family photos in Westport?

Sherwood Island: Offers a mix of wide sandy shores, tall golden autumn field grasses, and mature trees that frame the changing foliage.

Compo Beach: Features an expansive coastline, rocky jetty, a scenic boardwalk, and warm evening light reflecting off the Long Island Sound.

Winslow Park: Provides quiet walking paths, open meadows, and gorgeous large trees with colorful fall leaves.

Earthplace: Delivers rustic wooden footbridges, trails, and rich woodland backdrops for an organic nature feel.

Longshore: Combines water views, rocky beaches, manicured greens, tree lined walkways, and stone walls all in one spot.

Downtown: Excellent choice for a chic, upscale urban look blended with New England charm featuring beautiful brick brickwork, pedestrian bridges, and direct riverfront views.

Riverside Park: Provides wide stone dust pathways, classic benches, and beautifully clear angles of the water right along Riverside Avenue.

Your Questions, Answered

  • Most sessions last 45–60 minutes. That gives us enough time to settle in, play, and capture a variety of moments without anyone getting overtired.

  • Think comfortable, coordinated (not matching), and layered for the weather. Neutrals, earth tones, soft textures, and one or two richer fall colors photograph beautifully. I’ll send a full what-to-wear guide after you book.

  • Perfect. Some of my favorite images come from the moments between the smiles. We follow their energy, play games, explore, and keep things light. No forced poses required.

  • I have a few favorite outdoor locations in Westport with strong fall color. Once you book, we’ll choose the best spot based on the timing of the leaves and your family’s needs (including your own home).

  • Your full online gallery is typically delivered within 3 weeks. You’ll receive a notification by email as soon as it’s ready. Rush delivery is available if needed.

  • Fall weather can be unpredictable. Light rain or overcast skies often create beautiful soft light, so we usually still shoot. In the case of heavy rain or unsafe conditions, we’ll reschedule for another evening that season at no extra cost.

  • Absolutely. Just let me know when you book so I can plan the timing accordingly. Additional family members may have a small fee depending on group size.cription

  • Yes. A 50% deposit reserves your date, with the balance due one week before your session date.

  • Weekend evening spots fill quickly, especially in peak foliage season. Booking 4–8 weeks in advance is ideal if you want first choice of dates and locations. A limited number of weekday sessions are usually available closer to the date.

  • The investment reflects more than just the time we spend together on location. It includes years of experience, careful planning around the best light and peak fall color, professional-level editing of every image, and a fully personalized experience designed around your family. You’re not just paying for photos — you’re investing in heirloom-quality images that document this exact season of your life, created with intention and care. Many families tell me these are the images they print, display, and look back on for years.
